Path 2 - Retrofit module on an existing motor.

If your motor is reasonably current (post-2010) and otherwise working fine, a retrofit module gives you most of the same benefits without the swap cost. We fit three brands across Cranbourne:

Will my smart door work if the NBN drops out?

Local actions still work - the wall button, the remote, and (on most platforms) Apple Home actions from a device on the same local Wi-Fi. What stops working during an outage: remote-from-phone when you’re away from the house, voice control through cloud assistants, and most automations triggered by external events. We’ll always leave a working physical remote and keypad, regardless of the smart-home setup.

Can I let a tradie or courier in remotely?
